I received word from Patrick Hogan that World Wind Central appeared to be down, after checking I confirmed this, TheBeanSprout (Dom) has checked the dns registration and it is all up to date so it is likely a server or data center problem.
Nowak is no longer system administrator for World Wind Central so the server has been running unattended for months, it’s a testament to his good work setting it up that it has lasted so long.
Hopefully this is not the end, I have contacted Matt in the US to see if he can reboot it and also asked him if he could give Beany full access so he can be the new administrator, if I had the skills I would happily take over, but unfortunately I’m not a Linux guru.
I will keep you all updated and apologise for the site going offline.
If you need a hand to take over the control of the server, I’d be pleased to give a hand ;-)
Hi Bull,
I am up for keeping an eye on the server from the Australian time-zone as well and I have the sys-admin skills you may need, or it least people in ear-shot to ask.
Cheers,
whatnick.
Thanks Guys, that is really appreciated, once I get Beansprout set up I’ll let him know you are willing to help too :)
