Hospital as always was difficult, nobody has experience with my condition. The staff try their best and some were excellent, but mistakes with my ventilator happened. There were other things too like explaining to surgeons that general anaesthetic was not a good idea. Again without Mum staying by my side the whole time, except during surgery, I am not sure I would have made it through.
There is one more thing I want to share but currently can’t face, the experience I had when they gave me ketamine. I will just say it was one of the worst things I’ve ever felt.
I am now waiting to get to Guy’s hospital as they have a specialist dental team who can hopefully help me.
So it’s not been a great year, I’m exhausted but recovering. I haven’t been out of bed in two months and am not sure when I will be physically able too. But then again last week I wouldn’t even have had the energy to write this post.
Keep fighting Dan! Have really missed your updates
Thanks Sam, have to keep going
Oh sweetness that sounds bloody horrid. I’m sorry you’re having a rough time. I really hope the specialists can sort you out and get you onto the path of recovery.
Thanks Terrie
Thank you so much for the update. As you know, I’d been wondering if you were ok. Please never feel you have to keep us all posted, especially if you are exhausted. But do know that you are much loved, as well as admired. xx
Thank you, it means a lot x
