Lunar Landmarks Add-On for NASA WorldWind

“Here men from the planet Earth first set foot upon the Moon July 1969, A.D. WE CAME IN PEACE FOR ALL MANKIND.” – Apollo 11 plaque left on Moon.

This Add-on displays the locations of various NASA related landmarks located on the Moon, with clickable icons which open a related web page, from the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, in your web browser.


Each icon has a clickable link, mouse-over information, and a description of the location displayed near the bottom of the screen (figure-1).


Lunar Landmarks Add-On



To install the Add-on click the following link WorldWind_1.3_Lunar_Landmarks_0.1.exe and select save in your web browser. Once the download is complete double-click the icon (figure-2) on your desktop, or if you chose a different location to save the file navigate there, follow the on-screen prompts and when installation is complete run World Wind in Moon mode.

Next click the Lunar Landmarks icon in the World Wind toolbar (figure-3), this will turn on the Add-on.
